In my first year of University, our first strictly editorial project consisted of finding an article from 'the conversation' to then create a 7 page zine out of.

I came across an article reporting on the persecution and genocide of Rohingyan Muslims in Myanmar; a country where the main religion is Buddhism, and who's monks wear soft sandals as to not kill ants on the ground.

The hypocrisy and duality of this terrible situation intrigued me and gave me a hunger to produce the best assets to communicate the article.

I used brush strokes in the colour of the robes traditionally worn by these monks over heart-wrenching, black and white, photography of the victims of these events to create stark assets as a narrative device.
